My work primarily engages with the intersection of haute couture and fine art. My strong interest in haute couture raises questions about art and my own practice, particularly painting, which has long been my primary medium. While there are clear differences, there are also core themes that strongly overlap for me. In my work, both fields seem to be conditioned through my own person - similar to notions of proximity and distance, identity and anonymity - central themes that are fundamental to both haute couture and fine art, and that, somewhat unexpectedly, are more closely intertwined than one might initially assume.

A central focus of my work is the concept of beauty - as a fundamental yet ambivalent and often taboo field. Positioned between ideal, surface, and meaning, it forms a space of tension that operates in both haute couture and art, and continues to persist in inherited images and expectations.

An essential aspect of my practice is the use of humor and subtle irony, influenced in part by contemporary couture. This approach is not intended as mere exaggeration, but rather functions as a means of making existing structures visible. Instead of adopting a straightforward judgment, I am interested in revealing conditions, contradictions, and forms of staging - particularly where seriousness becomes a construct in itself. The proximity to conceptual art is reflected in a practice that seeks less to judge than to expose, thereby raising questions about perception, value, and authenticity.
