The triptych Three studies for figures of surreal life is both a reference to and an homage to Francis Bacon. In direct dialogue with the painting Surreal life, this triptych aims to isolate each figure and examine its presence both as an individual form and as a space that the figure occupies. The direct reference to Bacon lies in the singularity of the work, which reflects on itself through the compositional framework he developed in the 1950s. For Bacon, this construction served to build the composition and to "see the painting.“

My work attempts to translate this framework - originally made from raw lines - into a vibrant glass structure surrounding the figure, highlighting its singularity and the space it occupies. This also includes the dynamic potential of the figure's movement. The glass construct shares the same materiality as the figure itself; in a sense, it reveals the figure as both a space and a body.
